The shoulders, arms, wrists, and putter must be single fixed unit for a good putting stroke.
With this in mind, initiate the stroke with the shoulders — not the arms, or hands but the shoulders. This will help in making sure the stroke stays in plane –see chapter 7 in the Fundamentals of Putting for more details — and build confidence and consistency into your putting.
