Set for Success

When you set up to the ball on the putting green, take your time and make sure that you are the correct distance from the ball and your feet, hips and shoulders are aligned to your target.

Equally important, make sure that your hand position is neutral. Not too far forward or too far back. Also ensure that your hands are not raised or lowered, as this will result in tension in your arms and in the position of the putterhead at address and impact, leading to errors.

For more details about getting set for success on the greens, refer to your copy of The Fundamentals of Putting, Chapters 3, 4 and 5 for an in depth review. If you don’t have a copy, you can order one here.
