You cannot overestimate how many golfers have been introduced to golf through a caddy program.
We have been playing golf at Southbroom Golf Club in KwaZulu Natal South Africa for almost 20 years, and every round we have played, we have had the pleasure of having one of their team of caddies to help us play our round. Almost all of these caddies play golf and love the game.
As we all go through this challenging time, it’s more challenging for some of us than others, especially for those who don’t have much to begin with.
South Africa has undergone a very strict lockdown because of the health issues in the country.
Golf courses are closed and as a result the caddies have lost their income source, which supports their family and surrounding community.
The PGA golf professional at Southbroom Golf Club, Derek James and his wife Sheena are helping organize food packages to support all the caddies at Southbroom Golf Club. We have made a donation, and if you are able to make a contribution we will pass it onto Derek and Sheena directly to help them feed the caddies.
